Il castello di Aguilar

E' in questo paese cataro, ubicato in uno scenario di macchia aromatica, in contrasto con l'aspetto ordinato dei vigneti dell'Haut Fitou, che si trova il castello d'Aguilar. Adagiato sulla roccia, come una corona, domina la piana di Tuchan. Il nome "Aguilar" deriva dal latino aquila. Nel 1020, troviamo la prima menzione ufficiale del Puy de Aguilar (puy si dice di altura), nel testamento del conte Bernardo Taillefer Besalú, pronipote di Goffredo il Peloso, che la lasciò in eredità al figlio maggiore Guglielmo. Più in avanti il Castello di Aguilar andò nelle mani dei signori di Termes, gran vassalli della famiglia Trencavel. Dopo le crociate contro gli Albigesi, il castello passa di proprietà alla corona di Francia, che la restituisce a Olivier de Termes nel 1250, come ricompensa per le sue brillanti azioni di guerra in Terra Santa. Con il Trattato di Corbeil nel 1258, Aguilar divenne un fortificato distaccamento a difesa della nuova frontiera con l'Aragona. Nel 1260, Luigi IX, re di Francia, acquistò il castello di Aguilar e ne fece, fortificandolo, una fortezza reale e solo nel 1659, con il Trattato dei Pirenei perde significato militare.

Dalla A61 (da Carcassonne): uscita 25 Lézignan Corbières, direzione Thézan di Corbières, poi la D 611 per Tuchan;
la A9 (da Narbonne): uscita 40 Sigean, direzione Portel des Corbières, Durban Corbières, Villeneuve de Corbieres e dopo la D611 per Tuchan;
di A 9 (da Narbonne a Perpignan): uscita 41 Perpignan Nord (Rivesaltes), alla rotonda girare a destra in direzione Vingrau e Tuchan (D12 e D39). (Non accessibile in bus);
Perpignan Estagel (D117) dopo Estagel, svoltare a destra in direzione 611 D Tautavel / Tuchan

Dans ce pays Cathare, situé dans un scénario de broussailles aromatiques, contrairement à l'apparence ordonneé des vignobles du Haut Fitou, qui vous trouver le château de Aguilar. Perché comme une couronne sur le rocher qui domine la plaine de Tuchan, , le nom "Aguilar" vient du latin aquila. Plus en avant le château de Aguilar est venu aux mains des seigneurs de Termes, vassaux des Trencavel. Après les croisades contre les Albigeois, le château, devenu propriété de la couronne de France, il's sera fait don en 1250 à Olivier de Termes, comme récompense pour ses actions d'éclat dans la Terre Sainte. Avec le traité de Corbeil en 1258, Aguilar est devenu un détachement fortifié dans la défense de la nouvelle frontière avec l'Aragon.. En 1260, Louis IX, roi de France, a acheté le château de Aguilar, qui en fait une forteresse royale jusqu'en 1659, quand avec le traité des Pyrénées il a perdu son importance militaire.
